EPPS AIR SERVICE
Epps Aviation is the south's premier corporate and general aviation facility. Owner and founder, Pat Epps, has come a long way since the aviation pioneer days when his father, Ben T. Epps, the first pilot in Georgia, built and flew his first aircraft in 1907. Ben built and designed another six airplanes until 1937 when he was fatally injured in a takeoff crash at the Athens, Georgia airport, which is now named "Ben T. Epps Airport" in his father's honor. Ben's six sons and two of his three daughters all became pilots. In 1965, Pat bought a small fixed-base operation at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) and began Epps Aviation. The original facility consisted of a main hangar and 19 employees. Today, 43 years later, Epps employs over 200 individuals and is located on 21 acres.
LOCATION
Convenience is the key to Epps' location. It is a short drive (9 miles) from touchdown to downtown Atlanta. Rental cars, taxis and limousines are available and PDK is located next to MARTA, Atlanta's rapid rail system which ends at Atlanta's Hartsfield - Jackson International Airport.
